So there are so many different breeds of dogs out there to learn about. I want to talk about pugs first, not only because I own one but also because I really admire them. Pugs are definitely dogs that love attention and many belly rubs. Pugs look very funny because of their snub noses as most people notice. They make me think of a dog who ran into a door. With their snub noses, they are prone to many breathing problems, so it's very important to watch out for them, especially in the extreme heat.
So to the pug facts. They come from Chinese descent, and they are toy dogs. The Pug's name comes from the latin word "fist" because their face resembles a fist. They are thick little creatures. It is very easy for them to become overweight like my dog, so it's important to watch what you feed them. The moles on the sides of their cheeks are called beauty spots. Also something that identifies them is their curly looking tail. It looks like a cinnamon roll to me.
For people who want to own pugs, there are a few things to know. They are perfect for people who live in apartments because they are small and quiet. Their favorite hobbies are eating and sleeping, as well as mine. You can see the picture on the right. That's my pug, and she sleeps all day pretty much. Just like any other dog, it's important to make sure they are active so daily walks are a good thing. In the summer, it's important to make sure they are hydrated and kept in the cool much of the time. They should also be kept inside in the extreme cold as well. Pugs shed profusely. I always see hair everywhere in my house so new owners need to keep an eye out for that. They have such a thick coat on them that it's very easy for hair to come off quickly. Last thing to note about pugs, is that they need your full attention. They need a companion and being alone isn't very fun for them. So make sure to give them a lot of love!

I love your blog topic and am so excited to read your new posts each week! I found this post very informative and enjoyable. You were able to present facts, yet make it personal and fun. I like to see pictures and videos of pugs and I have the breed on my list for a possible future pet. However, I haven't been around a lot of pugs and didn't know much about them, so your post was very helpful.
ReplyDeleteGood work! When you start doing more posts it would probably make things easier if you had a list of different areas to talk about with each dog breed (ex. Origin, indoor/outdoor, shedding, etc.) just to make sure you don't leave anything out! :)
ReplyDeleteI can't stop to comment on this blog when I realized your topic is about pug! I have two dogs in japan which are Poodle and Chihuahua and I always think I definitely pick pug if I can get one more breed.
