A Maltese is a dog who is gentle and fearless. This dog is a very cuddly and affectionate little pup. They love being with people so they are perfect family dogs, even with a home full of kids. The history of this dog is pretty interesting. The dog had many names before the main one, Maltese. Some names were known as,  the "Melitae Dog," "Ye Ancient Dogge of Malta," the "Roman Ladies Dog," "The Comforter," the "Spaniel Gentle," the "Bichon," the "Maltese Lion Dog," and the "Maltese Terrier."  This breed has a lot of hair and it can grow pretty  quick too. In this week's post, we are gonna talk about Australian Shepherds. These are one of the most beautiful looking dogs out there. These dogs actually originated in the Western US, not Australia. This was around the gold rush in the 1840s. These dogs are used to herd livestock, and they do this by nipping, barking and eyeing the flock. They are highly intelligent dogs who love to be active. They aren't the type of "sleep all day" dogs. This dog needs plenty of exercise such as walks, runs, trips to the dog park and any other active activity. Aussie's are great dogs for competitions. Because these dogs have such tough agility, they are able to jump high and catch things in the air. If they do not get enough exercise, they will tend to get agitated and bark a lot. This breed originated in Siberia hence the name, Siberian Husky. They grow to be pretty big, medium sized. they have a heavy coat of hair which is why they do well in the arctic cold. They are very beautiful dogs, which attract many people to love them, but not everyone doesn't know the whole truth about owning them. They have several pros and cons. They are highly regarded watch dogs in the palaces and monasteries of their homeland. They have extremely long hair so grooming is an essential. They are very family orientated and are there to protect. They are super independent and loyal which makes them perfect dogs. They do great in apartments. They are small enough for them and are quiet so it doesn't affect the neighbors. They're fairly healthy dogs too even though, of course they are prone to some issues too. Shiba Inus are just super adorable right? Well, to me they are. I love their coat of fur and just their look overall. Honestly, to me, they look like little foxes. The breed was originally bred to flush birds and small game and was occasionally used to hunt wild boar. Something interesting is that they are one of Japan’s six native breeds. There’s Akita (large), Kishu, Hokkaido, Kai, Shioku (medium) and Shiba (small). This dog is known for his spirited personality, small upright ears and cat-like ability. This week, we're gonna talk about Corgis. The reason why I chose to talk about this bread is because my friend is getting one soon, so it got me thinking, this is a great breed to write about. One breed is the Cardigan Welsh Corgi and the other one is called the Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Welsh stands for "dwarf" dog. So I really wanna talk about this next dog because I find them absolutely adorable and funny. I never knew how much I liked these dogs until I met my Uncle Tim's french bulldog. Her name is Tallula, and she's absolutely the cutest thing ever. I think she's cuter than my own dogs. Something to know about these dogs is that they are great companions. Pugs are definitely dogs that love attention and many belly rubs. Pugs look very funny because of their snub noses as most people notice. They make me think of a dog who ran into a door. I have two of my own, and I love them unconditionally. I have a pug named Mango and a shih stzu named Molly. Unfortunately they are not too fond of each other, but they still get along somehow.
